There are two ways to add a line item to the project balance.
If you haven't set up your Stripe account to work with Filepass you won't be able to collect payments.

Adding a charge during the upload process

You have the option of charging for new files uploaded to the project. To do this, check the "Charge for files uploaded since last publish on xx/xx/xxxx" box when you are publishing your files, add your price, and add a description for the line item:

Once that's finished, click the purple "publish" button and your files are ready to send to the client!

Note that if auto-publish is turned on you won't have this option, and need to set any price using the "edit project balance" from the main project page.

Adding a charge from the project screen

If you add a charge from the main project screen, it will be applied to the entire project – not just certain files that you recently uploaded.

Start by viewing the main project screen, then select "Edit" (1) and "Project Balance" (2):

Next, on the payment screen that has opened, click "Add Line Item"

Lastly, add a description to the line item (1), add the cost for the line item (2), and click save (3):

You've now added a balance to your project, and clients won't be able to download any files until the balance is paid in full.
